How I Make My Soaps
My bars of soap last longer than commercial soaps because they are cold processed. My soaps cure for a minimum of 4 weeks before they can be sold. This means they are not melt and pour soaps (hot process), which can be sold within 24-48 hours. I make a lye solution (sodium hydroxide to facilitate saponification), but because my soaps are super-fatted no lye remains in the finished bar.
